The number of grooms who enjoy taking part in wedding planning recently got a boost. "Sophisticated Groom," formerly online only, launched its first print version in November on newsstands nationwide.

"The presence of a male wedding magazine is long overdue," says publisher J. Kevin Powell.

The magazine, priced at $4.99, targets pre-engaged and engaged men, ages 25 to 45, seeking survival strategies, fashion and planning advice.

When it comes to planning their wedding day, it's no surprise that women want to look their absolute best. According to a recent survey of women, looking fabulous was a top concern; beat out only by getting through the actual vows. However, the number one wedding day beauty fear is that they will look too much like their everyday selves, so it is easy to see why 61 percent want to have the look of a celebrity bride.

"Hollywood's celebrity bridal beauties truly set the stage for women across the country," says Star magazine beauty director Tara Kraft. "And looking like a star for your own wedding day can seem effortless with a few easy beauty tips and tools."

"They are the ultimate beauty tool for blending, applying or removing make-up because they are gentle, convenient and allow for precise application so you can look gorgeous on your special wedding day."

The most expensive dress you'll probably ever buy is the one you'll wear just once: your wedding gown.

Still, you want to make sure it lasts, at least till your daughter is old enough to laugh uproariously when you suggest she wear it at her own wedding.

Have the gown cleaned professionally before you store it, the Soap and Detergent Association recommends. Stains that you can't see now may show up later. If the trim can't withstand dry cleaning, remove it beforehand and reattach it afterward. Wedding Shoes

Stuff the bodice with white, acid-free tissue paper to prevent wrinkles and creases, and remove fabric-covered buttons, pins, sponge padding and perspiration shields that could damage the fabric. Hang the gown on a hanger and wrap it in a white sheet or muslin, or wrap it in white, acid-free tissue paper and pack it in a box.

Store the gown in a cool, dry place, such as under a bed. Basements are usually too damp; attics, too hot.
